COLIN HOLMES EASY LISTENING SHOW..CHRISTMAS TV.
With X Factor,Junior Apprentice, Masterchef and Strictly come dancing ending before Christmas, viewing seems
bleak this year. The X Factor has followed it's sorry path to almost oblivion with Littlemix being the favourite
to win. It's all down to that first single getting to Number one and the follow-up doing well to open the door
to a successful first album. Excitement has been limited and the judges have not been of a very high standard
Next year.....Maybe.
STRICTLY.
A few programmes left for the dancing extravaganza which has been more amusing than exciting and the final
five are about as good as each other. The winner gets a Mirror ball and a few BBC bookings. The judges have
certainly upped their game this year although in a bizarre way. Do we take this programme seriously? Of course
not. It's the celebrities that count. Russell Grant was the star we watched and laughed at, but for actual
Ballroom Dancing it is the professionals that should be the stars. A little more formatting required.
CHRISTMAS TV.
Without these familiar programmes TV this Christmas has certainly concentrated on Films, especially the
animated sort. They're all over the place.Who needs to buy or rent these films when you can guarantee
their appearance on TV next Cchristmas.
Downton Abbey Christmas Special is on Christmas Day and Micheal
Buble has a Christmas treat for an hour earlier in the week. One episode of AD FAB and that's the end
of the Christmas Cherries on offer. There are a few intelligent documentaries that are worth searching
out and the usual list programmes....50 famous moments....100 famous clips...you know the sort of thing.
You can complain about this sort of festive treatment but I'm afraid things ain't what they used to be.
We don't watch Television like we used to at Christmas, and many of us, switch channels all the time and
they're plenty of channels. Ah well......Radio's good. Which reminds me you can tune in to me for the
EASY LISTENING SHOW (Christmas Version) this Tuesday evening 8-10pm on TUDNOFM 107.8 OR ONLINE AT
TUDNOFM.CO.UK. AND CLICK ON LISTEN LIVE. I will be playing the BEST of Christmas music by Sinatra,Dino.
