THE VOICE /BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT / TITANIC.

The late spring big weekend features on TV before the summer season starts has been upon us
for another year. THE VOICE, the new Saturday biggie is quite entertaining with professional
singers performing for four Big Stars who can't see them until they press a button to swing their
chairs around indicating they would like to mentor them for the big prize. There are  back-stories
but at the start only we know them. The idea is good and very watchable. Will it continue in
this successful process. Who knows ? Somebody has got to win but from this point it's success
will be how they get there, and will it keep us glued to our screens.
BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT upped it's game especially with the judges. Simon Cowell and David Walliams
make a great double act and the two ladies add the glamour. The acts seem to be upgraded as well, even
the bad ones are really bad. Five minutes of fame! That's what they want and that's what they get even if
David Walliams hilariously seems to like them and votes "Yes" to the disdain of Mr Cowell which
usually elicits gales of laughter from Alisha Dixon....Oh yes...This show is fun.
TITANIC was a little disappointing coming from the pen of Julian Fellows after Downton Abbey. It
was a bit ho-hum,seen and heard it all before. It wasn't alone  for there were many other Titanic
programmes , some of them, especially the Drama Documentaries, better than this. It had a problem
with SILENT WITNESS, gory and bloody, on the BBC there fore it's rating weren't quite what
was expected. Too disjointed and the fact that you had to remember the participents in previous
episodes to fully appreciate the whole series was a mistake....I somehow could't grasp it all and then,
of course, I knew the ending!  Also some factual persons and some guessed at does point to more
drama soap that drama reality. What will they put on TV during the summer months when all these
programmes finish? I feel with all the cutbacks I will be complaining about fill-in programmes and
tedious repeats.....but I could be wrong......Look at that flying pig!!!!
